Meet Jill McLain

Meet Jill
Jill McLain comes to you from a rural area outside of the little town of Clinton, Wisconsin, where she now spends her retirement years indulging in fiber crafts. Crocheting happens to be my longest fiber obsession, which is now going on 51 years - that is a long time!

Jill is ecstatic to get the opportunity to be teaching the beginning crochet class at Susan’s Fiber Retreat.

For those of you that are interested in taking this class, the morning class will be focused on learning the basic crochet stitches and fundamental techniques. At this time, you will pick out your weekend project.

During the afternoon class you will be instructed on the language of crochet, which includes the abbreviations and symbols, and the basics of reading a pattern.

The materials needed for this class are as follows:

  • A medium weight yarn (your own hand spun is welcome)
  • Size G crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • A yarn needle

If you do not have these items, Susan will have these supplies available for purchase at the retreat.

The projects to choose from are:

  • Fingerless mittens
  • Double potholder
  • Cup cozy and coaster

If you have any questions, you can post them on the Facebook Retreat page or reach out to Susan and we will try to help.

I am so excited for this time to get together and meet you all and share our love of all things fiber!
